Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
- 4 – 7+ years' experience in public accounting, industry, tax and/or audit.
- CPA certification preferred or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to apply analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
- Capable of thinking independently and performing engagements with minimal supervision
- Strong project management skills and Capable of serving as the "in-charge" accountant on engagements
- Focused on developing technical skills and is committed to continuous performance improvement
Duties/Areas of Knowledge
Technology:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to research technical tax and accounting issues using common accounting research tools
- Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and utilize Trial balance and Tax preparation software packages (i.e., Engagement, CCH, Lacerte)
Tax:
- Serve as in-charge on client engagements including client communication, information coordination and technical review of work
- Preparation and review expertise for all types of tax returns (including individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, S-corporations and C-corporations)
- Appropriately research tax issues and questions providing recommendations for resolution
- Supervise and train staff and senior associates
Audit:
- Develop plan for audit procedures necessary to meet engagement objectives
- Oversee fieldwork is conducted effectively and efficiently
- Supervise audit staff and senior associates in completion of audit procedures
- Review and prepare financial statements and required reports
- Complete administrative requirements
- Communicate professionally with client and staff
- Recognize potential problem areas and propose solutions

- Assist senior and supervisor staff members with preparation of returns
Audit:
- Understand audit procedures necessary to meet engagement objectives
- Conduct assigned fieldwork tasks effectively and efficiently
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and required reports
- Complete administrative requirements
- Communicate professionally with client and staff
- Recognize potential problem areas and propose solutions

We have also developed an in-house CPE program for all of our staff members with less than four years of experience and sponsor a CPA exam review program through Becker Professional Education. In addition, we welcome and encourage input from all staff on the professional education courses they believe will enhance their overall professional development and technical skills.
