Heather is a Kilgore local who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Texas at Tyler. She has been a licensed certified public accountant since 2016. Heather began her career with Henry & Peters at the Tyler office when she completed her Bachelors in 2012 but transferred to their Longview office in 2018. Her focus as a tax practitioner has been on tax planning, reporting, and compliance services for individuals, partnerships and corporations, trusts, and estates. Her industry concentrations include non-profit organizations, real estate, farm and ranch, and closely held businesses.
Heather is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on numerous committees and as the 2024 fiscal year President for the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
She enjoys furthering the accounting profession with local students as a member of the University of Texas at Tyler Accounting Advisory Council. She is a Leadership Tyler Class 30 alumni and has been involved with Arts!Longview as a past board member and Junior League of Longview.
Heather was awarded the Kay Latta Award in 2019, as well as honored by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants as a 2019 Rising Star.
